Our story begins with a family moving from the heart of Tennessee to the east coast. We pretty much did it within thirty days from the time we decided Wilmington would be the place.
A couple of long drives and interviews and we were on our way. The second time we came here was for a quick weekend without the kids to look for a place to live. Its kind of hard to drive 12 hours one way find a job
and a home and drive 12 hours back in order to make work on Monday. But we were determined and we did it.
There were several tools we used to actually get moved. We owned a home in Nashville and decided to rent that. This was less difficult than expected. We certainly used the
Wilmington Star News for classifieds. But a web site like this would have been helpful.
There were a lot of things that didn’t work out right. For instance the place we had prepaid rent for a home but it was not even close to ready when we arrived at 3:00am on
Saturday. The Real Estate agent simply took our deposit and screwed us. Excuse the French please. We had even paid to have the utilities hooked up in this house and every thing. He just flat out screwed us. He works
for a big Real Estate firm here in Wilmington. When we called and complained that agency basically just laughed at us. Fortunately we had a few dollars left to get
another place on Sunday and I was able to get to work here Monday.
But the point of this Web site is so you can find out the information you need if you are moving here. If you just got here we are letting you know the places we know are not the
best choices whatever your looking for. We just would like you to have the inside scoop of which places are best to visit and which are a rip off in this area. Believe me some places are just out there to get
the tourist dollar. Every thing from Restaurants, Real Estate rentals to auto repair is graded. Some were just a total rip off.
